Jennifer H. Goody, Esq.

In January 2008, Jennifer H. Goody, Esq. joined Wand & Powers, LLP, as an associate. Mr. Wand and Mr. Powers were so impressed with her dedication to the office and to its clients, that in what can only be described as “lightning speed”, in August 2009, they named Ms. Goody as a partner, and the firm name changed to Wand, Powers & Goody, LLP.

Ms. Goody is originally from Bellmore, New York. After high school, she matriculated at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, where she received her A.B. Thereafter, she returned to Long Island and attended Hofstra University School of Law and graduated in 1997 with her Juris Doctor. She was admitted to the New York Bar, Second Department, in 1998 and the New Jersey Bar in 1999.

Ms. Goody was admitted to practice in the State of New York, Second Department, in April 1998, and in the State of New Jersey in April 1999. Prior to practicing in the areas of Family and Matrimonial Law, she practiced in a variety of areas since her graduation from law school including zoning law and workman’s compensation. Ms. Goody has practiced in the areas of Family and Matrimonial Law since 2004, almost exclusively, working on all phases, from pendente lite applications to post-judgment applications to appeals.

Ms. Goody is a member of the New York State Bar Association and its Family Law Committee, the Nassau County Bar Association and its Matrimonial Law Committee, and the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association. Ms. Goody joined the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association in 2004, and became co-chair of the Matrimonial Law Committee that year. She continued as co-chair of the matrimonial law Committee until September 2009, at which time she became the liaison between the committee and the Board of Directors of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association. Ms. Richards is presently a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association.

Ms. Richards utilizes her past social work education and experience to provide clients with an empathetic understanding of their marital difficulties and to help them cope with the divorce process. Her advanced law degree in taxation assists her in analyzing the financial aspects of each case and making recommendations.
